Soup Suppers at LCUMC
231-839-2123
Warm up with a hot bowl of soup and make new friends. There is no charge, but free-will offerings are always welcome. We are always in need of soup, bread and desert donations, and for volunteers to help serve and clean-up.
5pm-6pm in the church dining facility every Tuesday during the months of February, March, April, September and October.
Annual Bicycle Rodeo
Come to the church the first Saturday in June for our annual bicycle safety training! Training will be given to children on how to properly and safely ride their bikes. We will also have someone on site to perform a safety inspection of your child's bicycle. Parent or Guardian MUST be present for children to attend. We will be giving out a limited number of bicycle helmets to those who need them, so be sure to show up early!
First Saturday in June, 10:00am-1:00pm
Annual Hunter's Supper
The autumn hunt gets pretty cold here in northern Michigan! So the day before Michigan's deer hunting season opens, join us to warm up with a hot meal and great conversation!
November 14, 5:00pm-7:00pm in the church dining facility.

Lake City UMC National and International Ministries
Heifer International
800-698-2511
www.heifer.org
Heifer International's mission is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth. It all started with a cow. Moved by the plight of orphans and refugees of the Spanish Civil War as he ladled out meager rations of powdered milk, Dan West, an Indiana farmer, volunteer relief worker and Church of the Brethren member, grasped that the people needed "a cow, not a cup"—cows that could produce milk so families would not have to depend on temporary aid. From that simple idea, Heifer International was born.
Lake City UMC involves our children in this ministry by taking their donations during our "Children's Time With the Pastor". Each year the children pick a different animal, and throughout the year will give their love offerings to collect the money to buy the animals for needy families.
